Our Story

In 1984, Dave and Marci Hopkins decided to start a medical manufacturing business. At the time, Dave has over 30 years’ experience in medical sales, operations management, and sales management. He had previously started two medical companies and was ready to start another. Using this experience and on much prayer, hope, and every last penny they had, the doors to AngioSystems opened in May of 1984. At that time, Dave and Marci, with the help of their children, did all the manufacturing process.

At one time or another, each of their seven children worked at AngioSystems. Today, three of their children are operating AngioSystems. In addition, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren have helped in the success of the business. Four generations over forty years!

The business was started as a Georgia corporation located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. In 1991, AngioSystems relocated to Ducktown, Tennessee, where our operations are still today.

AngioSystems started with the idea of producing high quality American made products to support the critical medical device industry in the US. Forty years later and after introducing thousands of custom packs, surgical drapes, and SorbX Radiation Protection Shields, AngioSystems employees proudly carry on the dream of our founders; High Quality, custom medical innovations, made right here in southeastern Tennessee, shipping to valuable customers all over the US and many countries around the world. With the current management team having over 180 years at AngioSystems, we have the all the ingredients to keep going strong!
